It wasn't for townies, but a mafia could easily infer that it existed.  Wonk claimed Deputy and I didn't believe it, so I copped him last night, and he came up innocent.  There is no reason for a townie to lie about being a deputy, so I think it is rather obvious as a mafia that a mafia would know with a deputy role existing, a cop also exists.

If you're the cop then you're worth your salt. I'm finding it hard to believe all these cop claims though.(add in the practically a counterclaim by moreno)

There's plenty of reason for mafia to lie about being deputy though. Logic failure.
