problem is: there is no "they". they are called "anonymous" by reason. everyone can say he is "anonymous".

I think it is more likely that Anonymous acts as a group (although loosly knit) until Anonymous says or does something people really don't like or Anonymous are just unsuccessfull, then it was just a rogue member.  Make a threat, can't back up threat, blame rogue member. 

There most definatly is a "they", just because you are Anonymous doesn't mean you don't exist.
