After watching like a million American and English Survival shows I can say that is what they do. In fact I think it was Dual Survival where I saw it.

I can confirm this as well. Funny thing is, I just watched yet another Hippo show yesterday. A young male kicked the shit out of an old male, bit his tail off, mounted his ass and sprayed shit at him....as if the ass kicking wasn't bad enough. There was other interesting info too like how it's now believed that Hippos can use vocal communication via water and air simultaniously. They also say that aside from the mosquito, these bastards kill more people a year than any other animal in Africa.
