Wifi requires you to be near a router to go online on the Vita, while the 3G version you can be anywhere but you have to pay a monthly fee.

It really isnt required unless you use it for online gaming with friends (like on the road) o.o.

Though I honestly dont see the need for it....if you have access to a router/access point than there's no point in purchasing the 3G Version nor paying a monthly fee for it.

You save a 100 dollars along with whatever monthly bill you get lol

Yeah I did a google search and there is one that uses GPS(3g) and another version that uses wifi hotspots to calculate your location. The 3g version sounds cooler though.
