Well I get pre-approved for 5000$ credit limit in 10 seconds and there is no annual fee. By comparison I got the Best Buy mastercard back when I had almost no credit history in the US and after 5 years of owning it the credit limit is still only 1600$ and they charge me 50$ or so a year...( but you accumulate rewards pt a little faster shopping at Best Buy with it than you would at Amazon with the amazon card. ). Anyway I got the Amazon credit card because I wanted a higher credit limit because lousy credit limit keeps hurting my credit score as even while paying the whole balance every month, it's very common for the balance to be over 50% of the limit which isn't so good for your credit score. ( I have a third credit card which is a fidelity rewards visa and has the best cash rewards too but it's my wife's card and I actually had to lower the limit on that one to control her spending...) PS : I got a free 40$ Amazon gift card too for applying to the credit card...
PS2 : I love my Kindle Fire. It's the best invention since sliced bread !!! |
$40 gift card? I've only ever seen it say $30, unless they had a special at some point.
I forgot about credit limits. That might inhibit by grandiose dreams of racking up points. I never even get close to the limit on my current card.
