Big HDD Install is no problem for Me.. I keep at least 50Gb free on my PS3 for important games like this.. I enjoyed FFXIII a lot even with it's faults... so I'm sure this will be a excellent experience... but i'm gonna wait two or tree moths.. there's Soul Calibur V the same day and like You i'm more casual of RPG games...
By the way: FFXII is My favorite too... the best of alll FF I've played... Althougth I have played only from FFVIII...
