"It should be optional. If I want to play Shadow of the Colossus on my PS3, I shouldn't be forced to buy the PS3 version on a system which should still be BC. Also isn't it upscaled 1080p? Movie market aren't forced to upgrade, Blu-Ray players play DVD's."

Ha, I tried putting my VHS tapes and Laserdiscs in my dvd / blu-ray player, but they don't fit :(
As soon as digital distribution is far enough to release a drive less console / movie player, all bc will be gone.

It's lame that Sony doesn't offer a BC machine anymore, but hey if people hadn't complained so much about the price they wouldn't have shaved off all the extras. I miss the built-in card reader and 4 usb ports from my old machine too. Then again my Wii doesn't even want to play an audio CD.

ICO is remastered in native 1080p, it looks very good. Quite a feat considering it runs in 512x224 on the ps2. That's a jump from VHS to blu-ray quality.

"With Display Settings at 1080p, Ico delights with a native full HD framebuffer, again with MLAA applied - making it the first full 1920x1080 title we've seen to be running the computationally expensive post-process, providing a wonderfully crisp, eye-pleasing image. Switch over to stereoscopic 3D, and we have full 720p resolution per eye - again with MLAA engaged."

It's worth buying it again believe me.
