There are alot of reasons. For one Western devs have in there mind that they need to be like the eastern devs, which is stupid. I dont see western devs trying to be like the ones in the east. The frustrating thing is that the Japan devs have done great things. KH BBS, TWENY, FFtype 0 all good games, then they pull crap like FF13 & 14, SE is the worst because they got Eidos which was supposed to give them the western appeal and then they go around and still try to make there Japan games westernized?! Namco; not sure what the hell went wrong with Tekken6, but Tag2 looks good. Capcom, Pheonix Wright good, hell SF4 was great, but then they pull crap like UMvs.C3. Ninty and Sega do ok, Sonic has vastly improved and im loving the Yakuzas, they are true Japan games.
@DarkDescent, kinda make your argument moot, when half the games you listed arent even FROM Japan. Those are small fry games anywhere, where the hell is Versus 13?? Doesnt seem like exclusivity is helping that one.

That arguement was in responce to the guy saying multiplats are more new and unique my post before that was my arguement about japanese games, which if you read, you'd know I think have gone downhill, atleast bandai, capcom and especially square. Exclusivity with a big company doesn't really mean that much, the company has the money to make it about the same anyways, and no company (other then console makers) are going to take full advantage of a console.

ok thats all true. But its not a 3rd party publishers job to push any given console, thats up to the 1st parties. 3rd parties are supposed to get their game out to most people as possible, to ensure not just sales, but a larger fanbase. You might not like it but the days of exclusivity are gone, and IMHO its for the better.

I agree with this post!

But you know depending on a person's view/taste, certain genres are better on a particular system.

I've heard from alot of people and my opinion personally as well, I see the PS3 as a better system for RPGs while I see the Xbox360 as the better system for FPS.

thats true, but that still doesnt mean that they should just put it on one console. the PS3 version of COD still does extremly well and I believe that fighting games play better on PS3, but does that mean screw 360 owners and they get on games?? No way

Oh no you misunderstood me xD, I didnt mean it should be exclusive lol.

I'm just saying all in all it comes down to what a person wants out of a system in terms of genre, multimedia, online , etc.

Releasing games on multiplatform is good for both the consumer AND for the company who is developing the game.

Along with that it would truly be a competition between the hardware companies (Nintendo, Sony and MS) cause they'll be forced to make more games and even better games cause they'll be competiting mostly based on what each system offers in multimedia AND first party titles.

I knew what you meant, and I dont know why people cant see the bolded. It just works for everyone.  Ninty always brings there A game, dont know about MS, but Sony has really pulled their head out of their ass.
