Bout to play some Gears 3 (need to finish up Raam's Shadow!) and the ads on the dashboard are:
-A contest for "Ghost Protocol" on the home page. I have to click on it to see what it is. It says "Play to Win". I don't think I'm going to play or win, though.
-Nothing on the social page.
-An "ad" showing the new TV apps available on XBL on the TV page. I don't consider it a real ad if it's just showing me what is available to me on my console, though.
-A real ad for some cologne on the video page. You have to click on it to see what the hell they're talking about but this is definitely an ad that Microsoft is making money off of.
-That same World of Warcraft Chuck Norris ad on the games page. It used to be on every page. Now, it's just on the one page. This is an ad that I'm sure Microsoft is making money off of.
-Nothing on the music page
-Nothing on the apps page.
-Nothing on the bing page.
-Nothing on the settings page.
Like I said, every other ad is just showing content on Xbox Live and I like knowing what's available to me on my console. I don't think it's any different than seeing which games are now available in the Virtual Console when I turn on my Wii or seeing which games and movies are available on the PSN when I turn on my PS3.
Use this info as you see fit, people.
