Euphoria has driven the point already.

Bioware had it right with DA:O. They took the best tidbits from two of their best gameplays ever, Baldur's Gate and KOTOR and melded them perfectly.

I don't know what possessed them to give birth to the pile of steaming BS that was DA2, but a return to the roots would be more proficient for them instead of looking into alternatives that could probably just steem the BS further along the path.

"Broader audience". The hallmark of this gen and the term that may well have damaged RPG's and Strategy as genres beyond repair. FPS games are already done for.

Ah yes, just like S-E took cues from COD games for FFXIII right? >___<.

Thankfully, some developers are still immune to the "Broader audience" gimmick, but sadly they're becoming the minority *looks pleadingly at Blizzard*
