Huh. I haven't watched Dexter since the end of season four when I wanted to vomit at the lameness of how they handled the death of Rita. The show's first season was great but by the third season, it was starting to become unwatchable as the creators flogged that one-trick pony to death.
That's the problem with shows like Dexter. The creators keep going back to the "new season, new serial killer" schtick even though Miami having 20 serial killers in it is so impossible that it borders on insanity. The creators needed to either go in a different direction or plant their tongue in cheek and poke fun of the impossible nature of the show like Whedon did with Buffy when she got the award for minimizing death at the school her senior year.
