Interesting, I had a friend who lived in South Africa and I asked him if he was a victim of crime.

 

He said no, because most Africaners and Brits live in Gated communities.


Depends where you live, but in general he's quite wrong - he was probably over-exaggerating to make a point. My whole neighbourhood lives in houses/flats not very dissimilar from the one's you would see in the US/Europe.

Personally I hate those gated communities. Feels very artificial. I'd never live in one.
