It will still be worth it and you will have Paper Mario, Smash, etc.. to look forward to. I have just been playing the single player races (almost done with mirror) before I jump online since I want to have almost all the stuff unlocked first. Cheaters will always be online but there are ways to limit their presence. If enough VGC members can get together we could just race each other. That way if one of us is cheating then we can easily call them out on VGC.
