I personally know only  2 people that bought a 3DS.  Both are hardcore gamers persay.  One of them sold his already because he enjoyed playing more on his work provided iPad.  Anectdotal?  For sure.  But to think that hardcore gamers aren't likely to make the switch would be quite the hopeful pov versus a realistic one.

The sales are there like they were 5 years ago, thats not anecdotal. I do agree phone/tablet gaming will not help the core portable gaming grows in volume though. Thats why I expect PSP/DS like numbers from both the 3DS and Vita.
