Console launches are becoming more and more frontloaded so I wouldn't be surprised if PS Vita would sell over 600k FW and then sell less than 200k next week even with no shortages. So, biggest FW ever doesn't mean automatically mean PS Vita is a success and would beat 3DS. Heck, PSP had huge launch in Japan (200k HW sold first day) and DS had very slow start and it didn't much in the long run.
