I know, PS360 have the potential to go forward. There is no garentee that 2012 will even show a drop in sales, they could easily cut the price, and there are rumours of a PS3 Slim 2.0. I always think the gen is ending, and I'm usually wrong about it so :P.

At least we agree PS4 in 2013 fall, and yes Sony couldannounce a new IP, or even make The Last of Us 2 for PS3 release in 2014 like they did with GoW. However I hope the GT is new and freh for PS3 instead of a latecomer for PS3.

and I don't have cable, so I dunno how much any game is advertized, but I bet TLoU will see as strong advertizing as Uncharted.

I fully support Andrew House taking over the PlayStation branch, because Europe is getting it right on so many levels. Japan has weakened (in the western eyes that is) and I've been a vocal opponent of Jack Tretton and his leadership of the American branch. Because of House taking over the entire branch means that Sony is making the moves that are needed to return to the top.

That's why The Last of Us seems to be following more of a PS2 era title. Something that Sony appears to be throwing great support behind despite the age of the system. I hope the PS4 has a similar design plan like the PS3 had.

But looking at the PlayStation platforms. PS1 was revolutionary. PS2 was evolutionary. PS3 is revolutionary. PS4 will be evolutionary. PSP was revolutionary (but misguided which forced Sony to make) Vita revolutionary.

Dunno who Andrew House is.

The Last of Us is more of a PS2 era title? Since when were zombie games popular on PS2? I think it's more of an American genre, so it will sell well, and boost PS3 sales where it's needed.

Playstation is an awesome platform, but I've always been a Nintendo nut. However I always had a PS as a secondary console (PS3 broke early that's all).

Anyway great chat.

PS2 era in the fact that Sony is aggressively talking about the game. It appears they are going to promote this game heavily which something that even GT5 didn't get. Go to any video game focused website (that is a multiplatform or Sony focused) and see if you can go through their front page of their news section and not see something about The Last of Us at least twice.
