At least that's what all critical reviews point at and my limited playing time with COD:MW Reflex showed me. I do agree with the MP portion though. Having played The Conduit and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption extensively, both which are not rail shooters, my experience with them was far more satisfactory than playing with a dual analog setup because it's more similar than playing with a mouse in terms of responsiveness. Character design on Pokemon is your own personal choice. Everybody likes different designs, thus that not being an actual comparison point for quality. As for the fact of triple battles adding nothing, I would beg to differ since on official tournaments, Rotation and Triple battles are beginning to take higher value than Double battles, which shows that the public perception to them is positive and that it was a positive addition. Alas, it was not the only addition and step forward in the series, as I pointed out. Actually, couting Minecraft, Shogun 2 and The Witcher 2, you're right, most of the top games on PC are multiplatform. But isn't that the same scenario for consoles as well. In this GOTY count, the only exclusives were a PS3 and a Wii game, which by itself invalidates the claims that Wii games shouldn't compete with PS3 or 360 ones. That's your opinion of CoO, not the general critical peer review. My opinion is that GoW 3 is a non-sensical continuation of what used to be a good story, which fortunately CoO managed to capture. Memorable bosses? The only thing remotely memorable about GoW 3 bosses was that some were big, which is nothing that hasn't been done before. I'd take the battle with Persephone at the end of CoO any day over any boss in GoW 3, as it was actually challenging and didn't use any gimmicky WOW factor. |
I doubt the average gamer who goes to the shop to buy these things really understand what the concept of 30fps even is. Its obviously graphically inferior but thats not why it sells so bad, when you think of multiplayer games online its all about the PS3/Xbox. All the biggest games on PS3/Xbox have multiplayer, thats not the case for the Wii. People do not buy a Wii if they want to play online.
The first couple Pokemon games had great designs, they were usually just some kind of modified animal, like Pikachu is a mouse, Squirtle is a turtle, theres birds, bugs and fish. Its not like that now, they look like generic monsters like the ones in your signature.
It is the same but only 5 were nominated in the first place, 2 exlusives out of 5 isnt really lacking when you consider how many times more multiplatform games there are. In the past few years theres been plenty of PS3 and Xbox exlusives, like Halo 3/Reacher, MGS4, Uncharted 2, Little Big Planet. Since this gen no PC exlusive has been nominated and only 1 Wii game has which was Zelda.
I never said Wii games dont compete with PS3 games individually, Zelda and Mario Galaxy are better than most PS3 games, but the lineup as an average is much weaker for the Wii. A good game for the Wii is a mixed game for the PS3, a good game for the PS3 is a great game for the Wii. The PS3 has 12 exlusive games with a score of 90 and above, Wii has 8 and thats coming from a console with vastly more exlusive games than the PS3.
I didnt think GOW3 was all that great, its story let it done, but it did have the bosses going for it especially Poseidon, the first 30 minutes of GOW3 were better than CoO as a whole. But that game was just one example, the scores between systems are not equal. I wouldnt give Streets a Rage a terrible score because it doesnt compare to even below average PS3 games, id score it based on games of its own system.
Its why you get things like GoldenEye on the Wii scoring a 81 but a 72 on the PS3 even though its the same game. While its a good game compared to most FPS games on the Wii compared to FPS games on the PS3 its just average at best or why games like World of Goo get a 94 the same score as GOTY MGS4 when its just a WiiWare game.
