Key leaking was informative news. From what I've seen on those posts is classed as "opinion". I'm an expert on computer architecture in general and, believe it or not, ALL programmable logic machines today follow the same bus architecture. No need inventing the wheel here, after all. Sony fanboys might LIKE to think that the PS3 is a big revolution in cryptography and computer architecture, but the sad fact is, the main structure follows the same structure that's been used for the last 30 years. Sony aren't about to spend BILLIONS developing a computer architecture out of nothing when there is tried and true methods that already exist, especially when needing a common bus interface for logic chips that drive standard hardware, for example, USB. Want my advice? Do some research on the foundations of digital cryptography and why the compromise of a master key in an environment where exclusive control of the hardware cannot be obtained is basically an endgame, especially if you need to take backward compatibility into account. Don't go taking things word for word. Do the research and make your own mind up. It's the only way that you'll know the true answer. Why? What's to say that these so-called "experts" who side with Sony aren't being paid to say this? There is a ton of motive behind why propaganda needs to be spread that the system is secure again.
EDIT: PLEASE show me in the articles where Theresa Verity (whom I quoted) said that the fix was secure. She says no such thing. Also your second post appears to be fabicated opinion by someone named xeduran. All I need to do is take a look at his pointless "talk to the hand" retorts in the opinions below when the news is questioned. the rest appears to be snowballed from a source of misinformation. Articles laughable. |
"PLEASE show me in the articles where Theresa Verity (whom I quoted) said that the fix was secure. She says no such thing"
she doesn't and i didn't say she did either... the general consensus is that eventually the ps3 may be hacked again, however, i don't see how anything else was expected
"There is a ton of motive behind why propaganda needs to be spread that the system is secure again."
true, but using that logic i could just as easily dismiss the leaking of the keys as propaganda against sony just like the nonsense i've seen about other os being advertised as a major feature...
you seem to believe that propaganda only works in one direction... it doesn't... if we are to accept news of the keys leaking via reports over the internet why can't we accept news of a possible fix being implemented?
"What's to say that these so-called "experts" who side with Sony aren't being paid to say this?"
so are you trying to tell me that sony has payed off all of the hackers that they were at war with them to act as if the ps3 had been fixed?... lol come on now... if thats not the case why have no hackers come forward to dispute the reports?
