You mean the security on a device that he paid for? That bastard! How dare he attempt to modify something that's his! People here have to realise that this was Sony's attempt to regulate user purchased hardware in order to save money on server-side security. After this debacle, as well as the hacking attempts on a lax security PSN, it has come back to bite them on the ass. Now, if Sony was handing out PS3s for free, then you wouldn't hear me complaining. Sony could do what they want with hardware that's still theirs, but this is hardware purchased by a customer. Are you really going to stand there and say that Sony have a right to do this? |
"the security on a device that he paid for?" good point but he didn't pay for mine or anybody elses ps3 and when he starts to distribute hacks that affect other users he has to be held accountable in some way...
i'm quite sure that had he kept his hacks to himself and his as you say "device that he paid for" sony nor any of the ps3 community would've cared about him but he didn't his actions affected the entire ps3 community
"Are you really going to stand there and say that Sony have a right to do this?" legally yes and i already said it was unfair but of course i'd rather have a console with support for games and cheat free online play as opposed to the opposite ( what goehots actions would've led to going by what happened with psp )... you may disagree but i bought my ps3 ( and i'm guessing most have ) for games not operating systems that can be better supported on a pc
