No matter how many crazy guns there are I always love the balance of accuracy, range and power that comes with assault rifles. Shooters are so different, but I find the best strategies often involve having a good close range weapon like a shotgun or heavy machine gun with low accuracy mixed with a good long range gun be it either assault or sniper. That is my strategy to always be prepared for any fight.
Multiplayer is a whole different breed and I usually demand accuracy in guns when playing games from COD, Halo, Killzone of uncharted.
As far as weird guns, I love the Auger in the resistance series because it has kick ass power, shoots through walls and other objects and it has a limited shield. A really fun gun to switch up from the normal fighting in shooters.
