BTW, I didn't know Europeans liked American football. Is it popular over there too?

It's so popular that they broadcast the Super Bowl live on free-TV and with a lot of luck a couple of other NFL games. Which is a shame, because the European country American football was most popular in was probably Germany where five of the six NFL Europe teams were located before that league finally got shut down.

The popularity isn't going to grow as long as the NFL officials are focused on selling it as a pay-TV sport only and regional American football associations don't have the money to really popularize the sport by themselves.

Do you even think football Americano could compete with rugby? I mean I know rugby is not even that popular in Europe compared to the Southern Hemisphere. The games have a lot of similarities even though I think the football is rougher and has more exciting plays. So this makes me wonder if Europeans would ever greatly embrace a game that constantly stops. I hope so, but it seems it would take many decades. The league always is talking about bringing a team to London though.
