The original Batman movie was just as good as the original Spider-man, its just its sequels werent as good as the Spider-man sequels. The new Batman movies have more than made up for that though.

Box office wise both are some of the biggest adaptions of any kind around.

I don't know what you're getting at. The spider-man  movie franchise has made far more than Batman with an average of $800m+ per movie. Batman Begins made less than $400m and The Dark Knight made over $1billion.

Spider-man movies came out rin the last decade, Batman did $410 million in 1989, thatd be double that in todays money, they werent released in the dozens of countries that they are now. Batman Begins was a reboot following a movie that is considered one of the worst films of all time, most didnt go see it because of that.

This new Batman coming out will make $1 billion aswell and the Spider-man will probably be the lowest grossing one yet.

That's more to do with the fact that the Batman movies are incredibly good now, not especially because it is Batman. If they made a Spider-Man movie with Nolan I'm sure that'd gross a hell of a lot of dollars. This says nothing about the popularity of the characters

Course it is, Spider-man 2 was incredibly good its rotten tomatoes score is 93%, The Dark Knight got a 94%. Spider-man got a 89% to Batman Begins 85%. Its not like there was a huge gap, Spider-man 2 was considered the best superhero movie at the time, it still didnt do close to what Batman did.

The Spider-man Shattered Dimensions game was good it hasnt sold 1 million across 4 consoles.

The level of hype shows how much more popular Batman is right now.

Internet hype means nothing when it comes down to it. We've seen it all too many times with games...

Why doesnt it, there are millions of people on the internet looking up these movies and games and talking about them every day. Arkham City had a lot hype which is why it opened so well. I dont think anybody gave two shits about Edge of Time even me who liked the previous one and thats why it flopped.
