This is a strange time to have awards, simply because the year isn't even over yet. The only ones that really matter are the AIAS awards, IGN, and Gamespot's; and those haven't been held yet as far as I know. |
The AIAS awards as specious at best and IGN and Gamespot are far worse; I pay attention to one set of awards, and that's the Game Developer's Choice Awards presented at the GDC every year. I rarely agree with them, but they're always interesting in that they draw on a much larger segment of the developer community than the AIAS does.
