Thus hammering home the point that Microsoft never really cared about video game systems. They view home console systems the same as computers (except apparently with worse offering). Microsoft was mainly scared of Sony taking over the living room and turning their video game system into multimedia equipment they are now. Basically, I don't think Sony or Microsoft really care that much about the video game market. It is mainly about putting their products into every living room with video games as an almost afterthought (it isn't like this totally now but it grows more and more). Now you have to install games to play them on video game consoles (one thing video game consoles always trumped PC in that you didn't have to install the damn game and worry about specs (at least you don't have to worry about specs right now). Also, fuck paying to play for online gaming. I am going on a little rant but this is how I view both Microsoft and Sony.
