GOTY awards are demeaning. There are too many great games that are released every year to prop one up above all of the others. Not to mention they are COMPLETELY subjective most of the time.
Last year me and my friends argued so much over if Mass Effect 2 or Red Dead Redemption was GOTY that it felt ridiculous. The only way it'll work is if GotY stands for GameS of the Year.
