So you want a quick simple website that doesn't look quick and simple?
It really depends on what you want to do. Google "content management system" and see if that gives you want you need, otherwise, start a blog at any one of a bazillion blog sites. Almost all of them have loads of customization with zero need to code. Content management systems can be a little more in-depth but even they shouldn't be that bad. Anything you make yourself will look completely amateur, which isn't an insult, it's just because you are an amateur (well, not even that yet) and you're an amateur trying to make a website quick.
You can make something yourself from scratch but it's never going to look or work half as good as the website you linked to unless you actually invest a lot of time in becoming good at the various aspects needed. That website probably costs Big Cartel more than $10,000 to create and if you're actually looking for something with a shopping cart, that's just something you don't want to do yourself if you're not a professional.
