I think its a bit too early to say, we saw about 1.30 mins from a 100 hour game (i assume 100 hours). the problem in FF13 wasnt the sole fact the environments were linear. it was the lack of anything to do but fight the same 2 monsters 20 times as you traverse a straight line. here it looks like theres branching paths and maybe some mini-games (i've seen chocobos) or side quests in each environment.
its not going to be as large as something like Skyrim, FF12 or Xenoblade. but i think people should give it a chance, i doubt i'll get it, but for people who enjoyed FF13, i think it might have some improvements.
