I'd suggest getting a cheap Wii, and to also get Xenoblade while you're at it. You don't want to miss The Last Story next year either.
You'll have to pay much more for a WiiU, you'll have to wait much longer and it might not have enough games for you to justify getting one. You also don't know if there will be a Skyward Sword HD remake.
If you don't mind waiting about a year or so to play it then you can wait for the WiiU.
