Should I get a Gaming PC or a PSVITA?

This is what you have to bear in mind. For most people, a console is just a console, no matter how much its makers try to market it as something more.

The PC is the most useful tool you have. By spending your money on that, you;ll get far more benefits than better game performance.

Also bear in mind that you can upgrade a PC incrementally. If you invest a fair amount of cash in it now, you'll only have to spend a couple of hundred of whatever currency you use to buy new parts every three years or so. You can keep the monitor, case, power supply, disk drive and a whole load of other stuff for a good ten years if you buy good quality; you only need to regularly upgrade the HDD/SSD, RAM and GPU every few years and the CPU every four or five.

I've got a pretty good laptop for most other things, and I use my PS3 as the sort of media centre. The PC would be mostly for gaming, but you're right, I could use it for other stuff anyway and upgrade it over time. Thing is, I'm a huge fan of Sony franchises so the next thing I'll be saving up for is most likely PS4. So the PC will remain the same for at least another 2 years. 

But next year seems to be PCs best year in ages so I could buy a lot more games for instead of just playing the ones I already have...   decisions, decisions...
