@jay i obviously didn't "Come out of nowhere" i was talking about some disappointing factors in the game , i was right on topic , thats what the topic was about. @o_O.Q yes Open world do take a lot of extra chances, they're harder to do than linear games, obviously you knew that already, but trying to act like it doesn't matter @brendedude actually there is always something happening in the game, and all of it is unscripted, everything you see is guided by an AI, they do stuff the way they want, not to mention animals , dragons, weather....ect , on Uncharted every NPC other than the heroes are just background , you also know that.... and can we get back on topic ? uncharted 3 ? i really had no desire to mention Skyrim at all , but you guys went and fucked everything out and went very offtopic to make me look like a troll. i've no desire to troll, i'm like you (the non biased people) a bit disappointed by some of the design choices they made, but i admit i don't place Naughty dog as high as most people do (i do prefer other sony studios ) , its just disappointing to see this happen after Uncharted 2 and a bit weird that they haven't included simple things like shadows and anti aliasing, they actually might patch the game to include these things, because they can, its not that hard to do, and judging from other games, PS3 CAN handle simple stuff like that, Uncharted 2 did so why the hell this one doesn't?, i OBVIOUSLY said the game was rushed because of this, they should have made this before shipping the game. but now is too late for graphical tweaks ? i don't really know for sure. |
The thing is U3 does so much more than U2. So comparing it like for like is wrong. Theyve obviously made comprimises in certain areas to be able to do the things that they do on U3. Like i said in my earlier post, naughty dog's main goal is not to have the best textures, shadows or anti aliasing when zoomed in close and comparing screenshots, but rather to produce the best game they feel they can produce.
I also think your perception of U3 being rushed is wrong, i think Naughty dog tried to outdo themselves in U3 and go beyond what they were doing in U2. The end result is obviously different. Sure they could have done minimal changes to the engine and just focused more on the story, but they tried very hard to outdo themselves. So i think what you seeing is a developer that was probably just trying something different. Which doesnt mean it was rushed or not polished. Naughty dog themselves said they rewrote big parts of the engine to accomodate U3.
You act as if the game has some sort of game breaking bug....and they should have delayed the release. Uncharted 3 is one of the most polished games you will ever see. Uncharted as a franchise was already a cut above the rest when it comes to polish, and even if uncharted 3 wasnt as polished as 1 or 2 its stil up there with the best.
