Wow, I must have some odd build of the code because it doesn't look like that and in mine you can't make Nate move fast in the - very sharp resolution - desert because he's suffering from dehydration and can't move quickly although strangely when he perks up when nearing the graphics heavy abandoned settlement I can move him pretty fast and swing the camera all over the place quickly despite the big hike in rendering complexity from the open desert. Strange indeed.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
