PS3 Does Not Turn Off

i'm not sure waiting for it to cool and stuff really matters i had an old 60gb for 4 years and never did that and it was fine

but it doesn't sound good if its not turning off but do you mean it doesn't shut down or the fans won't turn off when shut down
