He's the ULTIMATE inangible guy. Somehow finding ways to rally his team to win even though he's not even a competant quarterback classically. Combine that with his strong views and external "To good to be true" comments where he actually puts it out there (like beign a virgin, god, actual charity work that he does vs a foundation etc.) vs say Tiger Woods "He must be a good person because nobody's found anything bad" and you've got what has to be the most frustrating and confusing player to modern sports... ever.
It's like Chuck Hayes ont he rockets who started at center when he was 6'6. Except 100 times better because Tebow is succeeding better against a harder shecdule then his predecessor with a style that often times doesn't even represent the position he's playing. |
He is a competent QB, he isnt throwing the ball into double coverage, and not turning it over. He might not have 300 yards per game but that doesnt make a QB competent. Rivers has all those yards and 17INT to go along with them. Id rather Tebow right now to make the right decisions.
Idiolizing athletes is stupid and people who hold professional athletes to higher standards than themselves are ridiculous. There humans and we are to and we all do stuff that we are not proud of, nobody is perfect.
Tebow has heart and you are right that he is the ultimate intangibles guy. He finds a way to win and there is no reason to not like him for what he does on the field.
