They'll be power just long enough to make all the unpopular decisions and then be removed for cleaning up the mess. Or refuse to have the guts to clean up the problem, cause a problem the EBC can't save, plunge the world into a recession that makes 2008 look fantastic by comparison, and be removed from power.
