I'm a cash person ...
From what I have experienced, what I have seen, and what I have read cash people (generally) have a much easier time maintaining a budget than people who use debit or credit heavily. There are (probably) lots of reasons for this, but I suspect one of the main ones is the immediate feedback you get about how quickly you're spending the money every time you buy something if you use cash; whereas, when you use debit or credit, since you don't have any feedback on how much money you're spending in a day/week relative to what you budgeted for you can easily ignore the budget.
I could be wrong but I suspect that as digital money replaces physical money we will move to a society where the norm is being as financially irresponsible as some of the worst people are today.
