If you want a plataformer that rivals the best, then J&D is not the best option.
Sony/ND needs to create a new IP.
I just can't see everyone playing Jak and Daxter like they see Mario....It's not a casual franchise. They need a more friendly and intuitive setting.
The best tentative from Sony was Crash Bandicoot, that ripped the ass of Jak/Sly/Ratchet.
Sony needs to create better characters. Western developers only create ugly characters. So they should make a partnership Naughty Dog / Japan studios. ND would make the engine, gameplay and the levels, and Japan would create most characters and music.
