Although I seriously considered purchasing a PS3 on several occassions, I could never really justify it. Much like a new TV - it'd be nice to have one to experience the exclusives but I just don't need it right now. I am a student, my money situation is mediocre, I work part time, purchasing another console will just shoot me in the foot both time and money wise.

When I will be able to purchase it I am not sure I am going to - by then it'll be like purchasing PS2 in around 2007. Although I don't think graphics or game quality leap will be anywhere near the 6th - 7th generation, I still think it may affect me, there are very few games I can play that have been released a long time ago - RTS games and that's it.

I am not a fanboy, at the time of my purchase 360 seemed like a much better alternative, and I do not regret my decision in the slightest - it's been great as all my current friends own a 360 with the exception of 1 - who purchased a 360 anyway. I don't love Microsoft or anything, I like 360 for what it is - an entertainment/gaming machine, and probably would have been the same towards PS3 had I purchased that instead.

Wow, very much like my situation. The only exception is I've converted most of my friends form ps3 to 360.

Alot of diffrent reactions in this post but most of them are considering buying the other consoles at the end of the current generation. Although, we only say that now, would the temptation of the next gen console be to much to bare and we'd save/spend up just that much more to experience it?
