so you want a metal gear solid game that isn't a metal gear solid game?  might as well ask for a mario platformer where mario can't jump...

The difference is, when Mario jumps you're controlling him. This is known as gameplay, something MGS severly lacks.

I guess you haven't noticed that most games these days are not only about the gameplay. Sure, gameplay is probably the most important factor but it's not like it wasn't good in MGS4. The cut scenes and story are what differentiate MGS from other stealth/shooters.

The gameplay isn't bad, it's just not enough.
