By the time I get to the center tail I'm lucky if I get 1 swipe in before he starts the tail stomp or tail slap both of which take lots of stamina and life off. So.....I die easily because I can't get to his tail quickly enough. I'm at like 16 equipment burden (out of 69 max equip) so I'm not over burden. So, how do I get to his tail quickly enough to hit it but not be in a prime position to get smacked around by his tail? Can anyone give me some advice? Killing him seems super easy as I got him to half life trying to cut off one of his "side" appendages to make going to his tail easier without getting hit. |
Cutting off his tail is either really easy and or really hard, depending on how powerful your weapon is.
For starters, if you have armor/endurance/equip burden that enables you to run the fastest, then run and break the crystal thing behind him AS SOON as you walk through the fog door. If you're fast enough, he'll do his "pain" animation (the animation he does when you break the crystal) with his back to you (and hence his tail) so you can run in and get a good few swipes. This is where, if you have a strong weapon, you can cut it off before he even turns around to face you again. If not, well it gets a bit tedious from here. You'll have to keep running around him (I find the right side to be safer) to eventually get to the tail and take ONE swipe. Don't get greedy. Roll away immediately as most times he'll pound you with his tail. Rinse and repeat. Light armor really helps here as you can run faster to the tail. Also, sometimes you'll have to bait him into attacking so he can stop turning and you can run around even faster.
You can go all out and wear no armor just to get the tail and put it back on afterwards if you die. Remember you'll have to pillage the tail, before he dies I believe.
