Well that sucks. First of all I think this gen has a lot of life left and second I want next gen to be as powerful as possible. A new Xbox/PS3 in 2013 would mean stronger hardware than 2012.

But by that logic a new Xbox/PS in 2014 would be preferable. Until you think about it and opt for a 2015 launch. Then again, 2016 would probably be better.

Yeah I see your point, but considering this gen still has life in it and is just peaking I think 2013 would be the sweet spot for nextgen.

Another reason for 2013 is that I want there to be anough time for Kinect sales to slump and thus MS to abandon motion controls, or at least not concentrate resources on them. Now with still somewhat decent Kinect sales this Christmas season we risk that MS decides to make Xbox 3 very casual oriented and with Kenect built in.

Im not against motion controls per se but my experience is that it's hard to have both worlds and I dont want motion controls to pray on hardware resources for tradidtional gaming.

It doesn't matter what year MS launch in, Kinect is launching with them.

Kinect is obviously going to play an important part in MS' goal to take over the living room with multi-media hardware and services. Kinect will be vital for providing the (touch and voice control?) interface for that.

They're not going to abandon it.
