JC your long posts make me go "aaahhh" :-p.
The OP isn't long enough to do that though, so I'll say this - can't be right. Because next year it'll be the 11th birthday.
What I think is more plausible is the 10th anniversary of Halo 2 (9th november of 2014) to be the launch date and the revamped title to be one of launch games, but somehow I doubt they'll wait that long.
