Alright so we all know recently the leaked name and release window for Microsoft's next Xbox was revealed. The new Xbox is supposed to be shown at CES in January. The name of the console is Xbox 10 and the release date is expected winter 2012.

The name Ten didn't make the most sense to me, I looked over threads about Xbox Ten and didn't see anyone talk about the name. Now if it has been talked about please link I obviously missed it.

But the name itself if true reveals a lot about the release date and confirms that the console will indeed be coming in 2012.

Firstly Xbox just turned 10 on November 15th. The 10th anniversary is already being celebrated with the release of Halo:Anniversary to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Halo universe. Microsoft has already said they plan to do something big for Xbox's tenth anniversary.

CES is the closest trade show to the tenth anniversary which Microsoft shows products off at. Announcing Xbox 10 (The tenth anniversary Xbox) at CES would make huge sense. Microsoft will likely also announce a huge roll out of events and things to celebrate the tenth anniversary much like Nintendo and Sega have been pushing their products anniversaries.

This new Xbox will very likely see a version of Halo 4 released as a launch window title for Xbox ten, why? Because ten years ago Xbox launched and Halo was the major title on the platform. That's not to discount the possibility of a 360 version but considering up until November 15th 2012 it will be the tenth anniversary of both X-Box and Halo.

If the name Ten is correct then a release date around November 15th 2012 with Halo 4 is very likely. What better way to wrap up Xbox's tenth anniversary then by launching a new Xbox as well as a new Halo game. Microsoft can really push this whole tenth anniversary thing big time revealing new stuff about the Next Xbox all year long, since very little has been shown of Halo 4 Microsoft can drag out the Halo celebrations all year long as well.

Leading to the climactic end of the tenth anniversary by releasing both Halo 4 and Xbox 10 by November 15th , 2012. The name actually makes complete sense and if true would really explain every single thing Microsoft is rumored to be doing.

Can you think of any better way for Microsoft to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Xbox or Halo? The tenth anniversary of Microsoft's entry into the console market?
