Apparently, you missed that article stating that they can run at least 2 controllers now.  Mutliplayer will be a little less appealing if they can only have 2 but I highly doubt many will choose not to buy it if it can only support 2 tablet controllers.  I rarely have 3-4 friends over at my apt at the same time these days.  It is usually just 1 or 2 at most.  My high school and college days are over...

All the articles I have read only stated that an anonymous source stated Nintendo was hard at work to try and get 2 controllers working on one Wii U.  There has been no comfirmation from Nintendo, or 3rd party developers, that they have been able to do this.  If you wish, you can show me the article that proves they have done it.
