I only try to Platinum games that I like and that are worth for it(don't have useless and ridiculous trophies).
But FFXIII was like a torture for me in the end. I spent tens of hours killing adamantoises. I created a technic to kill those turtles faster than any faq or youtube video. It was a pain in the ass(i probably killed at least 600 adamantoises) but I really enjoyed FFXIII overall.

the treasure hunter trophy certainly was a pain but i found it easier to farm sacrifices.  i forget the name of the place they are found but basically theres a set of 5 of them and after you kill them you walk back to the save point and they respawn.  if you have the item that raises rare drop rate they drop perfume nearly 100% of the time which sell for 12500.  this doesnt sound like much but i averaged about a 500k an hour or so.  i started farming adamantoises, but then i moved to this method and i think it is much more efficient.  i know this is useless to you now but if you ever need to get the trophy again this might help.
