There won't be a WW3.
Due to the current financial problems, everyone is getting more depressed, when people are depressed they look down at their feet, and to try cheer themselves up they will go an buy a new pair of shoes. As more and more people try to cheer themselves up by buying shoes, the increased demand means that more and more shoe shops will be created. The act of buying new shoes doesn't cheer anyone up for very long, so people get depressed again and have to buy more shoes. Slowly but inexorably high streets are bought out by shoe shops due to massive shoe demand, and because the rate of shoe purchasing is increasing, the rate of shoe manufacture has to increase. The speed at which shoes have to be made results in poor quality control, and thus shoddy manufacturing. Shoe quality drops and people have to buy new shoes more often as they fall apart quickly. Eventually this process reaches the Shoe Event Horizon, it will no longer be economically possible to build anything other than shoe shops. The economy collapses, the population starve and die out.
