Very much so. At the end of the last gen I had mostly played JRPGs, but I felt like the games were to long and the stories all seemed the same.
This gen coop and multiplayer with shooters became my thing. Picked up WRPGs as I just feel they fit stories I like. The characters are less feminine . They focus on individuals more than groups a lot. Which is a main difference in Western and Eastern society, with Western being more individualistic. Those games just fit my tastes more now.
