The year has 4 seasons on planet Earth (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter) in temperate and subpolar regions, though ecologists sometimes use a 6 season model for some temperate areas (pre-spring and late summer). Other regions have 2 seasons, or just 1 season all year long. No region has 5 seasons.
