On the Belgian news they asked teens why 11/11 is an holiday and what happened?
Interviewer: What happaned on 11/11 and why is it an holiday today?
Teen 1 and 2 : No idea
Teen 3: hmm, Oh I remember! I saw it in the movie, It is that day that USA attacked and invaded France on Miami Beach....
Interviewer: (Clearly shocked by the answer) uhm..... USA attacked France? For what reason?
Teen 3: You don't need really a good reason to attack the French...
Well I learned some stuff today, While it is true that the war ended in France and Belgium at 11.00 AM they make one mistake and that is back then France and Belgium used UK's Greenwish Time. So in fact they should remember it at 12.00. Back in time it caused some trouble because the Germans used an other time shedule and for them the war was over 1 hour earlier all allies thought about it except an small legion of American troops who didn't knew it and fought on and in fact overtook another French city in that hour.... Lucky Germany did not made an issue of this but for the same thing the war could have gone on... Well thought it was interesting let's call it Lostplanet22's Useless knowledge of the day.
