I"m playing NG+ now and I can't find Lautrec in his usual cell for him to be rescued. Is there something to trigger this? The wiki is saying this:

Upon starting a brand new game, Lautrec was not in his cage, before the gargoyle battle. After the gargoyles were defeated, returned to Firelink, where my firekeeper was dead, as if Lautrec had been there.... The Wiki suggests that if you enter the depths, he will kill your firekeeper. the only thing i did differently in this game than in others is I went to Blighttown by way of Valley of Drakes and grabbed the Crimson Armor.... Thus enabling the killing of my firekeeper... Without ever encountering Lautrec. Please confirm! (Confirmed)

But I didn't set foot in Blighttown yet, and I actually haven't been back to Firelink since I defeated the Gargoyles to check if Anastacia is dead or not.
