It is hard for me to even think of 5 ... going to need to pad this out a bit. I will include games that are yet to come out in 2011 if they qualify.

1. Deus Ex Human Revolution (masterpiece with virtually no flaws ... left me wanting more and I hope we see dlc beyond the first one they just released)

2. Skyrim (unless it turns out just awful or something, but I highly doubt it)

3. Alice: Madness Returns  (gameplay was repetitive, but so much creativity was on display throughout ... as a bonus they gave us the original American Mcgee's Alice too)

After these 3 there is a big drop in quality ...

4. Portal 2 (only for the charm and the writing ... the puzzle and portal gameplay was fun for the first few chambers, but it grows stale. The only real change in the gameplay formula was the welcome addition of coop)

5. Battlefield 3 (judged only on multiplayer which is quite solid)

6. Tropico 4 (if you are into god games and you own a 360 then you must buy this. If you have tropico 3 this really is not much of an upgrade though)

7. Gears of War 3  (surprised me, and it was the first Gears that sold me on the multiplayer by balancing things out so shotguns were no longer the only viable weapon choice)

8. Zelda 3DS and Starfox 3ds (figured I would combine them here since re-releases don't get much credit from me ... both are excellent games, but we have all played them before)

9. Resident Evil 4 HD (another re-release I had to pad the list with. This game still holds up today, but this is at least the 4th time this game has been ported now so I can not give it as much credit as I would have back when it was first ported to PS2)

10. Dead Space 2 (Even worse than the first one, and an insult to the genre of surivial horror  ... which this series barely qualifies as. I still had some fun with this though mostly because of the solid gameplay and some minor atmosphere here and there)
